Mobile Boarding Pass: Ryanair Makes an Exception for Morocco
Having launched the mobile boarding pass several years ago, Ryanair has decided to extend the service to all its domestic and international flights, except for flights operated from Morocco.
While mobile boarding passes are now required for all passengers traveling on this low-cost airline’s routes, the latter is making an exception for its customers traveling from Morocco.
According to Michael O’Leary, CEO of Ryanair: “In response to the Moroccan civil aviation authorities’ refusal to abandon the paper boarding pass service, we assure our customers in Morocco that our airline will continue to rely on this service.”
Downloading your boarding pass in less than ten seconds, then accessing it on your smartphone without internet access: this is what Ryanair is offering its travelers. This approach is now widespread in all airports operated by the low-cost airline.
“Does having boarding passes on smartphones automatically mean less paper? In fact, this measure allows us to save 300 tons of paper per year,” added Mr. Michael O’Leary.

Note that the Ryanair app is compatible with Apple’s Passbook and allows you to download your boarding pass up to sixty days (60 days) before the flight, and two hours (2 hours) before departure.
