Flights marketed by Royal Air Maroc but operated by a different carrier through a codeshare agreement (Etihad, Iberia, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines) are excluded.

The rules for creating a route allow:

– to book a one-way or return trip
– to choose a direct flight or a connection with a connection in Casablanca
– to obtain an open-jaw ticket (return flight from or to an airport different from the outward flight)
– to carry out a stopover (extended stop) without time limit in Casablanca, once in each direction.

The first requested award ticket can only be issued for the member himself or for a member of his family designated via Safar Family (who is not, however, obliged to travel with the member). The following tickets may be issued to any other traveler.

The award ticket includes the transport of cabin and hold baggage according to the same rules as for a standard ticket. When the passenger is a member, he also benefits from the additional excess granted according to his status in the Safar Flyer program.

How much does a Royal Air Maroc award ticket cost?

A scale by zones for point-to-point flights

Royal Air Maroc classifies each destination of its network in a geographical area:

Royal Air Maroc award ticket – Zoning of destinations
Zone Countries included in the zone
Europe 1 Spain, Portugal
Europe 2 Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey
Africa 1 Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Tunisia
Africa 2 Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Chad, Togo
Africa 3 Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya
Middle East Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar
Americas Brazil, Canada, United States

A scale determines for each zone the number of Safar Flyer miles necessary to make a one-way trip between any airport in Morocco and a destination served by RAM in this zone:

Royal Air Maroc award ticket – Number of miles required for a one-way ticket
Itinerary Economy class Business class
Morocco (domestic route) 4500 miles 7500 miles
Morocco – zone Europe 1 7500 miles 12500 miles
Morocco – zone Europe 2, Africa 1 12500 miles 20000 miles
Morocco – zone Africa 2 20000 miles 32500 miles
Morocco – zones Africa 3, Middle East, Americas 25000 miles 42500 miles

A round trip costs twice as much as a one-way ticket.

In addition to the amount to be paid in miles, various taxes must be paid in hard currency. However, Royal Air Maroc does not apply any surcharge to award tickets.

For example, a return ticket Paris / Casablanca in economy class will be charged 25,000 miles and € 77.25.

The award ticket for an infant (- 2 years old) traveling on an adult’s lap costs 10% of the miles required for the adult. A child (under 12) accompanied by an adult benefits from a 25% reduction on the scale. However, children traveling alone (UM) are not allowed to use a Safar Flyer award ticket.

Discount for connecting international flights

For connecting international flights through the Casablanca Mohamed V hub, the miles required for each segment must be added up.

But Safar Flyer offers 50% reduction on the number of miles in the shortest segment.

After discount, 52,500 miles instead of 65,000 will for example be necessary for a return trip Paris / Dakar in economy class:

6,250 miles for the flight from Paris to Casablanca (half of the Morocco – Europe 2 scale)
20,000 miles for the flight from Casablanca to Dakar (Morocco – Africa 2 scale)
20,000 miles for the flight from Dakar to Casablanca (Morocco – Africa 2 scale)
6250 miles for the flight from Casablanca to Paris (half of the Morocco – Europe 2 scale).

This reduction mitigates the negative effects of zoning on some roads and makes others competitive.

Domestic flights without additional miles

A domestic flight pre-routing or continuing an international flight does not require additional miles. A Paris / Casablanca flight followed by a Casablanca / Marrakech flight costs the same number of miles as a direct Paris / Marrakech flight.

As the duration of a stopover in Casablanca is not limited, it is possible to space out connecting flights during a stay in the economic capital of the Shereefian kingdom before reaching the Moroccan province or abroad.

Book an award ticket

An award ticket can be booked on the Royal Air Maroc website up to 4 hours before take-off. The booking engine allows you to purchase a one-way or round trip, direct flight or same-day connection in Casablanca. The issue of the plane ticket is immediate after payment.

On the other hand, for a multi-destination ticket (open-jaw) or for a long stopover in Casablanca (stopover), you must contact the Royal Air Maroc call center.

Flexibility of the award ticket

Royal Air Maroc award tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. During this period, they can be modified or canceled.
