Royal Air Maroc launches direct Casablanca-Los Angeles flight

As part of its long-haul network expansion, Royal Air Maroc has launched a new long-haul route connecting its Casablanca-Mohamed V hub to Los Angeles, USA.

RAM operated its inaugural flight on this route (registration AT250) yesterday, June 7, using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The flight departed at 4:00 AM and landed at LAX in California after a 12-hour journey.

The national airline now operates three weekly flights on this new route, departing Casablanca at 4:00 AM on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, with a scheduled arrival in Los Angeles at 8:20 AM (local time). Return flights depart California at 10:20 AM, arriving in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 AM (Moroccan time).

According to Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc: “The opening of a direct flight to Los Angeles only reinforces RAM’s position as one of the leaders in African air transport.”

“This new route can serve as an air bridge to transport supporters of our national football team to the United States a few days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, which will be held jointly in the United States, Canada, and Mexico,” he added.

Royal Air Maroc strengthens its presence in the United States

The inauguration of the Casablanca-Los Angeles route allows RAM to expand its services to the United States, given that the carrier, a member of the Oneworld alliance, already operates regular flights to New York and Atlanta.

RAM has already announced its intention to operate special flights between Casablanca and Boston to facilitate the transport of Atlas Lions supporters to the United States.
