Royal Air Maroc cancels flights to three countries in Europe

All flights to and from the three European countries are suspended due to their health situation linked to Covid-19, until further notice. A health pass is now compulsory to access the Kingdom’s airports.

The Moroccan Airports Office (ONDA) confirmed yesterday on social media the suspension since October 20, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. on all air links with Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The three countries are therefore added to Russia, where flights have been suspended since October 5 for the same reasons for the rise in cases of contamination.

If the low cost Air Arabia Maroc was content to relay the information, the national company Royal Air Maroc announced in the wake of the commercial measures: “Following the decision of the Moroccan authorities, we would like to inform you that Royal flights Air Maroc from Morocco to the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands are suspended until further notice. For this purpose, the company undertakes to accompany its passengers during this period by authorizing the change and reimbursement under the following conditions:

– Free change without charge until December 15, 2021 to the same destination or another destination.
– Reimbursement of tickets in the form of a credit note valid for 12 months, and refundable at the end of its validity in cash form at the customer’s request.
– Cash refund at the initial point of sale ”.

These announcements coincide with the entry into force on Thursday of the “vaccine pass” as a document approved by the health authorities, and now compulsory to access Moroccan airports. A government statement explains that “as part of the strengthening of the positive development experienced by the national vaccination campaign, while taking into account the gradual decline in the number of infections by the coronavirus thanks to the measures taken by the public authorities”, the government decided to adopt from this Thursday, October 21, “a new preventive approach, based on the vaccination pass, as a document approved by the health authorities through a series of measures”.

Moroccans who have received the two doses of the vaccine must download the “vaccine pass” on the website dedicated to the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19. www.liqahcorona.ma.

The government’s goal is to vaccinate 80% of the population, as the campaign for the third dose began earlier this month.
