EasyJet flight to Marrakech diverted to Bordeaux due to medical emergency

An easyJet flight bound for Marrakech was diverted to Bordeaux yesterday, Wednesday, due to a medical emergency.

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM when the easyJet aircraft, flying from Amsterdam to Marrakech, was diverted from its original route. On board was a 40-year-old Moroccan woman who had fallen ill during the flight.

According to information reported by the “Aviation 24/7” Facebook page, the easyJet Airbus A319 (registration OE-LKD) was diverted to Bordeaux.

Faced with the situation, the crew decided to divert the plane to Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport so the passenger could receive medical attention as quickly as possible.

The flight was carrying a total of 144 passengers and 6 crew members. Emergency services were mobilized for the unscheduled landing; firefighters intervened as soon as the aircraft reached the tarmac to attend to the 40-year-old woman.

The Air Transport Gendarmerie, present at the scene, also monitored the operation.

After receiving necessary initial treatment, the woman was transported to the Pessac Mutualist Clinic.

The flight resumed its journey to Marrakech a few hours later.
