Delta Air Lines serves its inaugural flight Atlanta – Marrakech
Delta Air Lines landed yesterday at Marrakech-Menara Airport, officially launching its flights to the historic Moroccan city.
Departing from its Atlanta hub, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Delta Air Lines operated its inaugural flight (DL 186) to the Moroccan destination. The flight departed at 5:50 p.m. and arrived at Menara Airport at 6:21 a.m. today.
In its press release, Delta announced that this service will operate year-round with three flights per week.
Announced a few months ago, this flight is the first in DAL’s history to a Moroccan destination and brings the number of its African destinations served to five.
According to Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s General Manager of Operations for EMEAI: “Our airline continues its global expansion by strategically developing its Atlanta hub, and we are delighted to announce the launch of nonstop flights to Marrakech, Delta Air Lines’ first scheduled service to Morocco.”
It should be noted that United Airlines (another American airline) already operates scheduled flights to Marrakech from Newark Liberty. That route was launched last October.
