Morocco – United States: The air bridge has never been busier than in 2026
Traveling between Morocco and the United States has never been easier, nor more competitive among airlines. Driven by the 2026 World Cup and a surge in tourist demand, the transatlantic flight offering has expanded significantly in just a few months: new direct routes, seasonal increases in service, and special fare campaigns are all being rolled out.
Royal Air Maroc, Still the Cornerstone of the Connection
The Moroccan national airline (RAM), a member of the Oneworld alliance, remains the leading operator between the two countries and has considerably strengthened its North American network this year.
Casablanca – New York (JFK) remains the backbone of the service, with almost daily flights operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Flights AT200/AT201 and AT202/AT203 connect the two cities in just under 7 hours outbound (JFK to CMN) and approximately 8 hours inbound (CMN to JFK), with departures from Casablanca generally occurring between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM local time, depending on the day. This route is also marketed as a codeshare with American Airlines, allowing members of both frequent flyer programs to earn miles.
Casablanca – Los Angeles (LAX) is the major new addition this year: this inaugural flight on June 7, 2026, marked the very first direct connection between Africa and the American West Coast. Operated with a Boeing 787-9, the route runs three times a week (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday) with a flight time of approximately 12 hours from Mohammed V Airport. RAM CEO Hamid Addou described the launch as “a significant milestone in the history of Royal Air Maroc and air transport in Africa.”
Washington (Dulles/IAD), Miami (MIA), and Boston (BOS) complement the airline’s regular and seasonal network to the United States, with connections via Casablanca to destinations throughout Morocco, West Africa, and several European cities.
Note: During the World Cup (June-July 2026), RAM exceptionally chartered dozens of additional flights to New York, Boston, and, for the first time, Atlanta, to transport Moroccan fans—a temporary arrangement that has now ended, but which illustrates the airline’s ability to quickly expand its service to meet demand.

The airline currently offers round-trip flights from the United States starting at approximately USD 346 (promotional offers), with specific examples of fares displayed on its website:

Delta Air Lines: The Big American Arrival on the Moroccan Market
In late October 2025, Delta Air Lines became the first American airline to launch a direct route to Morocco, with the Atlanta (ATL) – Marrakech (RAK) route, operated by Boeing 767-400ER aircraft.
The service operates three weekly flights: departing from Marrakech on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and from Atlanta on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. During the holiday season (December 18 to January 6), the frequency is temporarily increased to one daily flight to accommodate peak demand. Thanks to the Atlanta hub, this route connects Marrakech to more than 125 US destinations, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Miami, with simplified connections.
This launch comes amid growing economic cooperation between the two countries: bilateral trade has increased from $34 million in 2005 to $3.4 billion in 2024, under the US-Morocco Free Trade Agreement.
Other options: United, American Airlines, and connecting flights
Beyond the two direct routes, several airlines offer connecting tickets, generally via a European (Paris, Madrid, Lisbon) or Middle Eastern hub:
American Airlines sells codeshare tickets with Royal Air Maroc on the New York–Casablanca route.
United Airlines offers connecting flights, notably through its Star Alliance partners in Europe.
Saudia, via Jeddah, regularly emerges as one of the cheapest options on the market, with round-trip tickets found from €352 between Morocco and the United States. Ryanair + Frontier Airlines combinations (indirect flight from Rabat) also appear on comparison sites for travelers willing to combine several low-cost carriers, at fares that can drop to around €640.
These connecting flights are often more economical than direct flights, although they significantly longer travel times.

Immigrant visas suspended, but not tourist visas:
Since January 21, 2026, the Trump administration has suspended the issuance of immigrant visas for nationals of 75 countries, including Morocco, as part of its “America First” policy. Moroccans can, however, continue to travel to the United States for short stays, studies, or business trips without additional restrictions; tourist travelers are not affected by the suspension.
Morocco is not on the “USA Travel Ban List”
Unlike other countries, Morocco is not on the list of 39 countries subject to a total or partial entry ban (Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Niger, etc.).
New, stricter ESTA procedures
Since February 8, 2026, in addition to the ESTA (the price of which has increased from $21 to $40), travelers must provide their email account credentials for the past ten years, their phone numbers, and their social media credentials for the past five years, under penalty of being refused entry at the border. They must also provide information about their immediate family.
Health restrictions on certain Royal Air Maroc flights:
Since early June 2026, as part of Ebola prevention measures, passengers who have been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan within 21 days prior to their arrival in the USA are not permitted to travel on Royal Air Maroc flights to the United States (with some exceptions decided by the US authorities (CDC, CBP, DHS)).
